With more than 15 years of experience founding, building and selling businesses, and pioneering technology to deliver video content across wired and mobile networks, Mate is expert at identifying unmet demands and opportunities for service providers.
Prior to his current role overseeing the management and strategic direction of Avvasi, Mate held business management roles at LSI Corporation which acquired VideoLocus, an H.264 fabless semiconductor company where Mate was co-founder and CEO. He also held engineering roles at PixStream, a video networking systems company, which was acquired by Cisco Systems.
Mate holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business.
Michael is responsible for setting the product and technology direction for Avvasi. With his wealth of experience founding and developing technology businesses, Michael expertly leads the Avvasi team of innovative engineers.
Prior to Avvasi, Michael worked with Mate in engineering and product management roles at LSI Corporation and was co-founder and Chief Architect at VideoLocus. He also held engineering roles at PixStream and Cisco.
Michael has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and is an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo.
John is responsible for the financial and internal operations of Avvasi, including manufacturing, finance, human resources, IT and administration. John has more than 20 years of experience leading emerging and established technology companies through successful growth and change.
Before Avvasi, John was Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Americas for Odyssey Financial Technologies (sold to Temenos SA), COO/CFO of Telmetrics Inc., CFO at Fastvibe (sold to Telus) and VP Finance at FloNetwork (sold to DoubleClick/Google).
He has also held senior finance and operations roles with several other emerging and successful venture capital-backed companies and as Vice President with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance Inc. led financing and M+A advisory mandates for the firm’s technology clients. John has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and holds Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator designations.
Brent is responsible for global sales operations at Avvasi. During his career, spanning more than 20 years, Brent has managed and scaled sales organizations from startups to large corporations with a focus on new product launches. Brent’s carrier experience and customer contacts are a key asset to Avvasi.
Prior to Avvasi, Brent held executive and management sales roles at Experian – Digital Advertising Services, Vpacket, Redback Networks, Newport Networks, Vocal Data, Unisphere and Nortel. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sciences from Acadia University.
Cam joined Avvasi in 2013 with more than 25 years of combined experience in the Wireless Carrier and IT Services industry, as well as extensive experience with building and leading high performance teams, partnering with large multinational companies and Mobile Service Providers and driving company initiatives that build profitable companies.
Prior to Avvasi, Cam was Chief Marketing Officer at We-Create Inc., a software developer creating mobile and web applications, and Head of Sales for SlipStream Data Inc, which was acquired by Research In Motion (RIM). He also held Vice President, Carrier Management and Director of Sales roles at RIM (Blackberry), and was Vice President Financial Services Vertical, and Managing Director, at EDS Systemhouse.
