Avvasi has a highly experienced and successful management team comprised of serial entrepreneurs with a long track record of working together, developing advanced technologies, and building successful businesses.
| Mate Prgin – President & CEO: Mate is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the company. Prior to Avvasi, Mate held several business management roles at LSI Corporation. LSI acquired VideoLocus, an H.264 fabless semiconductor company where Mate was the co-founder and CEO. Prior to VideoLocus Mate held several engineering roles at PixStream, a video networking systems company that was acquired by Cisco Systems. Mate has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business. | |
| Michael Gallant – VP Software Engineering & CTO: Michael is responsible for managing the software team at Avvasi and setting the technology direction of the company. Prior to Avvasi, Michael held several engineering management roles at LSI Corporation. Michael was the co-founder and Chief Architect at VideoLocus, which was acquired by LSI. Michael also held several engineering roles at PixStream, which was acquired by Cisco Systems. Michael has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. | |
| Alex Leyn – COO & VP Hardware Engineering: Alex is responsible for managing the hardware team at Avvasi and the operations of the company. Prior to Avvasi, Alex was the General Manager at Nuvation, an execution focused Engineering Design Services company. Alex also held several engineering management roles at LSI Corporation, and was VP of Engineering at VideoLocus, which was acquired by LSI. Alex was also the Director of Hardware Engineering at Cisco and PixStream, which was acquired by Cisco Systems. Prior to PixStream, Alex held several engineering and management roles at Leitch Technology, now Harris Corp. Alex has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. |
